Here is a good place to post all rendered models.

A personal request: Please do not "shrink back", ALL of your renderings are wellcome and will be greatly appreciated. :D
Shiny cars...post processed with Photoshop are not required.

Alibre's "Strut" assembly used for the PhotoRender tutorial.
Rendered with Hypershot Web, standard everything, default settings. Gives an idea of the render size for the Web version.

Everything modeled in Alibre Design Xpress.
All have resolution 640 by 480
Hypershot Web maximum resolution is 800 by 450?

Something you all are waiting for...the unveiling.

Using HS 1.8's new texture mapping options, we can get a nice 2D drawing on the blanket thing. Also works well for wood pieces.

Hypershot HD 'out of the box'.

This one needs a bit more detail, I think..

Hey Max - how did you drape that blanket?

    Nice renders!

I used Blender for the blanket draping. I don't think we will have a blanket feature in AD until probably v15? :)

OK, I would really, really like to learn how to do that, but I'm guessing Blender will take about forty years to learn... about right?

Blender isn't something you...jump into. Maybe I could write a tutorial. What do you want to drape the blanket over?

    Re: Alibre User "HyperShot Galery"

I downloaded Blender for fun and opened it and felt like someone plopped me down in the pilot's seat of the space shuttle. Right before re-entry. The UI doesn't look too friendly, but I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually. I've played a little bit with importing solids from alibre and so on. I know it's very capable and I am motivated.

I'd like to do something like that over a regular solid to start with, say a sphere (OK, a sphere is not a regular solid), or maybe even a tutorial on how you did just what you did would be helpful.

    Thanks

    Re: Alibre User "HyperShot Galery"

Heh, ya the Blender UI is completely nonstandard, as is not a single thing is Windows standard. It takes a while, but ironically when you know what you are doing it is very, very efficient.

If you just want to play a bit, go to youtube.com and type in "blender cloth tutorial"

Youtube has a lot of tutorial videos on specific things for Blender, so try "blender cloth tutorial" or "blender cloth", or "blender fluid simulation" or "blender hair" etc...and there are tons of step by step videos.

    Re: Alibre User "HyperShot Galery"

Thanks, I've been doing that. Can you let me know the file formats you use for your workflow, for importing and exporting things? I assume it goes Alibre > STL > Blender > ? > Hypershot...?

    Thanks

    Re: Alibre User "HyperShot Galery"

If I want an assembly in Blender:
Alibre -> Step -> Rhino Import (get the free trial) -> OBJ export -> Into Blender

If I want a single part in Blender:
    Alibre -> STL -> Blender

    When exporting from Blender:
Always use OBJ export. Be sure that you defined a different material to parts or items that actually have different materials. Otherwise, everything will have the same default material and HyperShot will assume it is all one big part.

On export to OBJ, select "group by material".

    Import to Hypershot.
